The Old Comrades are a band of former Royal Marines who still reside in Deal and the surrounding area.
For the second year, this impromptu band, put together by
former Marine Stephen Mission, performed
without rehearsal, many of them sight-reading the music!
The programme included such challenging pieces as Suppé's "Poet and Peasant", a selection from "The Sound of Music"
and the somewhat ambitious, but successfully rendered finale, the "1812 Overture" by Tchaikovsky
